Your Stirling: Bridge of Allan Profile

Lying on the Allan Water just one north of Stirling City Centre, Bridge of Allan is a small town with plenty to offer the prospective home buyer. Amenities include leisure centre, sporting facilities, a golf club, shops, restaurants and hotels. The town also benefits from a train station with frequent services to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth to name a few.

The town has grown overtime and is now host to close to 10,000 inhabitants, from a mere 6,000 in 2011. There is a vast number of private housing on offer, including some fantastic period properties including Museum Hall - now converted in to flats, but once a music venue hosting the likes of The Beatles. In terms of schooling, both Bridge of Allan Primary School and Wallace High School serve the area. There has been a recent announcement that the former Beaconhurst Private School will re-open in the near future after being purchased by Fairview International Schools, an established Malaysian educational company. It is understood the school will re-open as a primary school only, initially.

The local market continues to perform well, however, buyers may experience themselves competing for what little property is on the market - the recent House Price Index from The Registers of Scotland confirmed that supply of property in Stirling is down over 20% on this time last year.

We have great local knowledge of this desirable area. If you are looking to buy, sell or rent please do not hesitate to contact our Stirling Office on 01786 23623
