Lying on the Allan Water just one north of Stirling City Centre, Bridge of Allan is a small town with plenty to offer the prospective home buyer. Amenities include leisure centre, sporting facilities, a golf club, shops, restaurants and hotels. The town also benefits from a train station with frequent services to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth to name a few.
The town has grown overtime and is now host to close to 10,000 inhabitants, from a mere 6,000 in 2011. There is a vast number of private housing on offer, including some fantastic period properties including Museum Hall – now converted in to flats, but once a music venue hosting the likes of The Beatles. In terms of schooling, both Bridge of Allan Primary School and Wallace High School serve the area. There has been a recent announcement that the former Beaconhurst Private School will re-open in the near future after being purchased by Fairview International Schools, an established Malaysian educational company. It is understood the school will re-open as a primary school only, initially.
The local market continues to perform well, however, buyers may experience themselves competing for what little property is on the market – the recent House Price Index from The Registers of Scotland confirmed that supply of property in Stirling is down over 20% on this time last year.
